They have the rebased code completed and they are (and have been) running it on "testnets" (mining just to test the code.) Monero is going to fork around April 6th (block height of 1546000.) Aeon is supposed to fork around April 7th.
You will need to update your miner to the latest XMR-Stak (I just switched to XMRig and I get a slightly better hashrate with it.) XMRig will automatically switch the miner over to the new algorithm variation. I'm not sure about Stak miner... check github readme page for it.
The pool software(s) will need to be updated as well... I don't know if aeon-pool is updated already and ready for the algo switch or not, suhz will probably chime in here soon with info on that.
You just need to make sure your running the latest miner software. If you're unsure, it's best (IMO) to just clone the git repo and rebuild it... then you should be fine. If you're on windows, they have windows binaries for the miners on the github releases page.
You'll also eventually need to update your wallet codebase... but not until after they officially release the rebase (with a hard fork.) You wont lose your coins or anything, they've made a great rebased codebase and it'll be a smooth transition.
